Report: Blake Griffin to have minor knee surgery, out at least 3–6 weeks
Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin will be out until at least January after he undergoes surgery on his right knee, reports The Vertical.
According to the report, the cleanup surgery is considered minor and is scheduled for sometime this week. The injury is expected to sideline him at least three weeks, but could keep him out for up to six weeks.
Griffin, 27, missed a Dec. 10 game against the New Orleans Pelicans because of a sore knee, but has played in the four games since.
He had 26 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in 38 minutes in a 117–110 loss to the Washington Wizards on Sunday night.
Griffin, a five-time NBA All-Star, is averaging 21.2 points, 8.8 rebounds in 26 games this season for the Clippers, who are fourth in the Western Conference with a 20–8 record.
