Taiwanese animation studio NMA takes on Lakers' hiring D'Antoni over Jackson

*****

By Ben Golliver

The brilliant, sarcastic minds at Taiwanese animation studio Next Media Animation have riffed on NBA hot topics for awhile now. They're back this week, panning the Lakers' decision to hire Mike D'Antoni instead of Phil Jackson to replace fired coach Mike Brown. Lakers vice president Jim Buss gets the worst of it, as the video depicts him wearing a trash can on his head and riding the "Short Buss" to pick up D'Antoni, who underwent knee surgery, at a nursing home. Jackson, meanwhile, is shown meditating a la his "Zen Master" moniker.

"Anyone with half a brain would have hired Phil Jackson to coach the Lakers," the narrator says. "But Jim Buss doesn't have a brain so the Lakers hired Mike D'Antoni."

Lakers fans then pelt Buss and D'Antoni upon their arrival at Staples center.

The narrator continues: "Lakers fans are pissed that the team didn't bring back the Zen Master. They'll be even more upset watching a team of aging half-court players try to run D'Antoni's system."

Finally, Lakers forward Metta World Peace is shown beating up a Lakers fan in retaliation for being hit in the face with a projectile.

NMA previously broke down D'Antoni's departure from the Knicks, blaming Carmelo Anthony for "ball hogging" and not adhering to his coach's offensive style. Check that one out below.
