Nets' Johnson hits double overtime game-winner vs. Wizards

*****

Make it two double overtime game-winners in less than a month for Nets guard Joe Johnson.

Johnson, who sent the Pistons packing in double overtime on Dec. 15 with a step-back jumper over Tayshaun Prince, did it again to beat the Wizards 115-113 at the Verizon Center on Friday night.

With five seconds remaining in double overtime, Johnson isolated against Bradley Beal, milking the clock. Washington then rushed Martell Webster as a second defender at Johnson, leading him to calmly step to his right and pull up over both defenders to hit the contested mid-range jumper. The basket went through with 0.7 seconds remaining; Washington was unable to score on its ensuing possession, making Johnson's last-second jumper the game-winner.

Johnson finished with 18 points, three assists and two rebounds in 47 minutes. Brook Lopez led the Nets with 27 points and 13 rebounds. Deron Williams added 24 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds.

Beal finished with a team-high 24 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals in 48 minutes. He also threw down a pretty highlight reel dunk in the fourth quarter.

Brooklyn improved to 18-15 on the season and 4-1 under interim coach P.J. Carlesimo; Washington fell to a league-worst 4-27.
