Raptors' Rudy Gay hits game-winner in overtime to beat Pacers
By Ben Golliver
In just his fourth game in Toronto, Gay delivered a dramatic overtime game-winner to defeat the Pacers 100-98 on Friday.
With 10 seconds remaining in the extra period and the score tied, Lowry handed off to Gay on the perimeter and then cleared out, letting the newest Raptor go to work in isolation. Shadowed by Paul George, one of the league's best perimeter defenders, Gay milked the clock before taking two dribbles to his right to set up a pull-back mid-range jumper over the outstretched hand of George. The ball swished through cleanly with just 1.7 seconds to play. George's attempt to tie the game on the other end proved unsuccessful.
Gay finished with a team-high 23 points on nine-for-25 shooting, but had 13 points in the fourth quarter plus four more in overtime.
Toronto improved to 18-32 with the win. Indiana dropped to 31-20 with the loss. George finished with 26 points, 14 rebounds and five assists and David West had a game-high 30 points and eight rebounds in the losing effort. Video via YouTube user frank den
