The Knicks traded swingman Ronnie Brewer to the Thunder for a 2014 second-round pick and cash considerations. New York announced the deal after the trade deadline passed at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday.

New York signed the 27-year-old Brewer to a one-year contract for the veteran's minimum of $1.1 million last summer. He is averaging 3.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in 15.5 minutes in 46 games, opening the season as the starting small forward while Carmelo Anthony moved to power forward to replace the injured Amar'e Stoudemire. Guard Iman Shumpert's return in January essentially pushed Brewer out of coach Mike Woodson's rotation. Brewer, who slumped after shooting well early in the season, has logged only 25 minutes combined in the last 14 games.

Oklahoma City will add a player known mostly for his defense to a deep roster. He will compete for reserve minutes on the wing behind the likes of All-Star forward Kevin Durant, Thabo Sefolosha and Kevin Martin.

The move frees a roster spot for the Knicks, who had been at the league's 15-man limit. New York will sign free agent forward Kenyon Martin to a 10-day contract, according to Yahoo! Sports.

The Thunder also agreed to trade guard Eric Maynor to the Trail Blazers on Thursday.
