Bucks' Monta Ellis hits one-legged buzzer-beater to top Rockets
By Ben Golliver
Monta Ellis had it all ... at least for one play. The Bucks' guard -- whose previous high point of the season came when he compared himself to Heat guard Dwyane Wade -- hit an unbelievable buzzer-beating three-pointer to top the Rockets 110-107 in Houston on Wednesday night.
With the game tied at 107-107 with five seconds to play, Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings found himself unable to create a shot against Jeremy Lin. His solution? Shovel the ball to Ellis at the top of the arc with less than two seconds on the clock. It was a near-impossible situation to salvage, but Ellis improvised, stepping into his catch and fading backward to launch a fall-away three-pointer off of one foot over Chandler Parsons, just before the buzzer sounded. His try arced up and rolled around and in. Ellis and his Bucks teammates wasted no time in jogging to the locker room, victorious.
Ellis finished with a game-high 27 points (on 9-for-24 shooting), 13 assists, six rebounds and six steals in 45 minutes. James Harden led the Rockets with 25 points, seven assists and four steals.
The shot was part of a wild night in the NBA. A full roundup is here.Video via YouTube user NBA
