Hawks cheerleader hospitalized after falling to floor during routine

A member of the Hawks cheerleading team was briefly hospitalized after falling during a dance routine at Atlanta's 127-113 loss to Dallas on Monday night.
Video replays showed the dancer, identified by the Hawks as Kristen, losing her balance as she kicked her right leg into the air, causing her to fall backwards and hit her head on the court. She lay motionless, face down, on the court following the fall and was eventually taken out of Philips Arena on a stretcher. The fall, which occurred between the third and fourth quarters, briefly delayed the game.
The Hawks announced that Kristen was released from Atlanta Medical Center after being examined by physicians on Monday night.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that coach Larry Drew addressed Kristen's fall after the Hawks' loss.
“Our best wishes are with the cheerleader who had the incident on the court,” coach Larry Drew said to start his postgame press conference. “She is doing well, from what I’m told. We are hoping that she is OK and are keeping things in perspective.”
This is at least the second serious incident involving a routine at an NBA arena this season. Back in November, a member of the Magic's stunt team was hospitalized after falling during a routine. Video via YouTube user Tom Bachonski
