Video: Bulls' Jimmy Butler completes alley-oop dunk over Heat's Chris Bosh
By Ben Golliver
The athletic second-year guard broke out in transition with a little more than two minutes remaining in the third quarter, rising high to catch a lob pass from Luol Deng as Chris Bosh hustled back to protect the rim. Butler received the pass using only his right hand, bobbling slightly before punishing the hoop with a power dunk with Bosh stuck helplessly beneath him.
Nate Robinson on Butler's dunk: "I told Jimmy to ask Chris Bosh to sign the poster, but he probably won't do it."
This wasn't a poster of the month -- LeBron James has had two better dunks (over Jason Terry and Beno Udrih) in the last 10 days -- but it was emblematic of Chicago's fiery, fearless play on Wednesday. Butler scored 17 points (on six-for-10 shooting) with five assists, four rebounds and two steals in 43 minutes. Chicago, the Eastern Conference's No. 5 seed, improved to 39-31 with a third straight win. Miami, the East's No. 1 seed, dropped to 56-15, still the NBA's best record.
