Fan attempts to steal LeBron James' headband after Heat win streak ends

By Ben Eagle

Wednesday was a frustrating night for LeBron James. His team's 27-game winning streak ended in Chicago, his frustration with NBA officiating came to a head and, to top it all off, a fan tried to steal his headband.

The attempted theft came as the Heat were heading toward the visting locker room. James, who finished with a game-high 32 points, seven rebounds, three assists and four blocks, was minding his own business when a fan reached from the stands to pluck the headband straight off his head. Surprised, James recoiled and gave the fan a death stare.

Later, James vented to reporters about the physical treatment on the court in Chicago.

“I’m not sitting here crying about anything,” James said. “I play the game at a high level, I play with a lot of aggression, I understand that some of the plays are on the borderline of a basketball play or not. But sometimes, you know, I don’t know … it’s frustrating.”
As Dan Devine at Yahoo! Sports noted, James has given his headbands away in the past, so maybe this was simply a misunderstanding on the fan's part. Either way, on this night, it wasn't so great to be The King.
