NBA fines Warriors' Jarrett Jack for verbal abuse of official after loss to Lakers
The NBA announced Sunday that Warriors guard Jarrett Jack has been fined $25,000 for "verbal abuse of a game official" at the end of a 118-116 loss to the Lakers at the Staples Center on Friday night.
Golden State had been upset at a number of foul calls down the stretch of the game, which carried playoff implications for both teams. The Lakers finished with a 50-16 advantage in free throws attempted and pulled out the two-point victory after Carl Landry missed a mid-range jumper with two seconds remaining and a Stephen Curry three-quarter court heave rimmed off at the final buzzer. Video replays appeared to show Jack walking over to address an official after Curry's miss.
Golden State, fighting to maintain the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference, dropped to 45-35. L.A. maintained a one-game lead for the West's No. 8 seed with the win, improving to 43-37.
