Pacers set to wear sleeved jerseys during Orlando Summer League

Last week, Darren Rovell of ESPN.com reported that as many as five NBA teams could unveil sleeved jerseys for next season in the same style as the Warriors' disastrously mismatched duds. Phoenix was confirmed (by Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic) to be among those soon-to-be-sleeved teams, and on Tuesday, Indiana announced through its website that the Pacers would test-drive the sleeved look at the Orlando Summer League. The announcement notes that Indiana is not expected to be among the teams that incorporate the sleeved jerseys this coming NBA season, though the fact that they're willing to give them a try in an official capacity suggests the potential for the team to add the uniform to the rotation down the line.

For what it's worth, Pacers center Roy Hibbert, after seeing news of the sleeved jerseys tweeted out by Pacers director of media relations David Benner, did not approve:

Hibbert is hardly the only player to voice his displeasure with the sleeved look. Suns guard Kendall Marshall -- before it was reported that Phoenix would wear sleeved uniforms next season -- responded similarly:

Warriors guard Stephen Curry also was none too pleased with the sleeved look after the Warriors debuted the look in a blowout to the Bulls. From USA Today:

“You’re on national TV, NBATV [the game was not nationally televised], wearing our ugly jerseys,” said Curry, who had just eight points on 2 of 13 shooting and didn’t hit a three-pointer for the first time in 54 games. “I shouldn’t have said that [about the jerseys], but it’s just one of those things where there’s a lot of attention on us and we don’t show up to play. And we just come up short.”
