With less than three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and the Spurs leading 65-62, Taylor drove hard to his left into the paint from the right angle. The Spurs' defense never quite cut off his path to the hoop so he simply kept driving, eventually deciding to elevate once he hit the restricted circle. Baynes tried to contest the dunk effort from the weakside, to no avail, and Taylor finished the strong one-handed slam over the top of him.
San Antonio went on to win 69-68 on a game-winning jumper from Cory Joseph.
Taylor, 24, averaged 6.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in 77 appearances as a rookie last season. He scored a game-high 24 points in the loss.
