Lakers guard Xavier Henry dunked over Jazz guard Justin Holiday during L.A.'s 108-94 preseason win at the Staples Center on Tuesday night.
With roughly 10 minutes remaining in the second quarter and the score tie at 26, Henry deflected a pass from Holiday and took off for the races. Holiday gave chase and Henry, a southpaw, rose up high for a one-handed lefty slam once he got into the paint. The 6-foot-6 Holiday attempted to block the shot with his right hand, but Henry finished the dunk over the top of him, falling to the court as he came back down to earth.
Henry, 22, was the No. 12 pick in the 2010 draft, and he signed a one-year contract with the Lakers this offseason.
Holiday, 24, is the brother of Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday, and he's with Utah on a training camp contract.
Los Angeles improved to 3-4 during the preseason with the win. Jordan Farmar led the Lakers with 20 points (on 5-for-7 shooting) and three assists in 23 minutes. Henry added eight points (on 3-for-6 shooting) in 23 minutes.
Utah fell to 1-5 during the preseason with the loss. Gordon Hayward led the Jazz with 15 points (on 5-for-15 shooting), four rebounds, four assists and four steals in 31 minutes.
The Lakers and Jazz will both close out their exhibition schedules at the Honda Center in Anaheim on Friday. The Lakers and the Clippers
will then open the regular season in a crosstown showdown at the Staples Center on Oct. 29.
