Video: Nets' Joe Johnson hits buzzer-beating floater in transition to defeat Suns

Game-winners don't get any more heart-stopping and crowd-silencing than this.

Nets guard Joe Johnson nailed a buzzer-beating floater in transition to defeat the Suns 100-98 in overtime at the US Airways Center on Friday.

Johnson's walk-off heroics capped a wild end-to-end final sequence. After Phoenix scored four points in a row in the game's final 90 seconds, Goran Dragic stole the ball from Brook Lopez with 26 seconds remaining and the game tied at 98. Milking the clock, Dragic ran a high pick-and-roll with Channing Frye, electing to throw the ball back to Frye at the right angle with the shot clock under five seconds and the game clock under 10 seconds. Frye lofted a three-pointer that rimmed off, and Kevin Garnett batted the rebound out to Johnson, who was standing near the three-point line.

Less than five seconds remained in the game when Johnson got the ball, and he immediately took off for daylight. Two Suns retreated to play transition defense, and Johnson appeared to realize as he approached the paint that he wouldn't have enough time to get all the way to the rim. Stopping short with less than two seconds remaining, Johnson lofted a pull-up floater over Frye's outstretched hand, and the ball swished through perfectly just as time expired.

The shot completely sucked the life out of the building and sent Frye to the court doubled over in frustration. Brooklyn's bench mobbed Johnson, who acted as if he had just done the most routine thing in the world. What an ending.

ESPN Stats & Information notes that the shot was Johnson's fifth buzzer-beater since 2007-08, tops in the NBA. Last season, Johnson hit a double-overtime game-winner against the Wizards and a double-overtime game-winner against the Pistons.

Lopez led the Nets with a game-high 27 points (on 9-for-16 shooting) and seven rebounds. Johnson finished with 13 points (on 6-for-19 shooting) and five rebounds.

Dragic scored a team-high 19 points (on 5-for-12 shooting) and dished 10 assists in the loss.

Brooklyn improved to 3-5 with the win; Phoenix dropped to 5-4 with the loss.
