With a little more than six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and Orlando leading 94-76, Oladipo worked on Teague outside the arc. Creating a driving lane with a quick, side-stepping left-to-right crossover, Oladipo initially took a cautious approach before deciding to just go for it.
Both Horford and Millsap rotated across the paint to dissuade him, but Oladipo simply drifted to his right to avoid them before launching into an explosive elevation that ended with a right-handed hammer dunk. Even more impressive: Oladipo was given the and-one because replays showed that Horford hit him across the face right before he completed the slam.
What this dunk might have lacked in pure one-on-one posterization, it made up for in everything else: smooth set-up, power, degree of difficulty, a strong follow-through and the ever-important "small guy dunks on bigger guys" angle. Take all of those factors together and it's only right to include this one in the growing "Dunk of the Year" conversation, which also includes poster dunks by Lakers guard Xavier Henry, Celtics forward Jeff Green and Nuggets forward J.J. Hickson.
Oladipo finished with 18 points (on 7-for-11 shooting) and five assists in 29 minutes. Arron Afflalo led the Magic with a game-high 26 points (on 9-for-18 shooting) and three assists in 36 minutes.
Teague and Horford both scored 15 points for the Hawks in a losing effort.
