Video: Sixers' Evan Turner hits buzzer-beating runner in OT to top Nets

Evan Turner hit a buzzer-beating runner in overtime to push the Sixers to a 121-120 home victory over the Nets on Friday.

Philadelphia set up its final possession with Turner throwing the ball in from the baseline with Brooklyn up 120-119 and just six seconds on the clock. Turner then circled through the paint to receive a dribble handoff from Spencer Hawes at the top of the key, before using a hesitation move to turn the corner towards the hoop on the left wing.

With the clock under three seconds, Turner found himself in the middle of a crowd of four Net defenders, so he elected to pull up into a leaning jumper over Deron Williams. Turner released his shot with a little over a second remaining, and it finally went through the net after time expired after dancing three times on the rim.

"Originally we had run something we were going to give the ball to [Thaddeus Young] or James [Anderson] cutting," Turner said during a post-game interview with CSN Philadelphia. "It fell through. I looked at coach to call my play, he went with me, he put his faith in me. I knew I couldn't let him down or my teammates down. Thank the Lord it went in."

The basket countered a would-be game-winning three-pointer by Paul Pierce on Brooklyn's final possession.

Turner finished with a game-high 29 points (on 13-for-22 shooting), 10 rebounds and five assists. Young added 25 points (on 11-for-18 shooting), six rebounds and four assists for Philadelphia.

Alan Anderson led the Nets with 26 points (on 9-for-17 shooting) and five assists. Pierce added 24 points (on 7-for-9 shooting), 10 rebounds and five assists in a losing effort.

Philadelphia snapped a seven-game losing streak and improved to 8-19 with the win. Brooklyn dropped to 9-17 with the loss.
