Blake Griffin threw down a monster dunk that led Chris Kaman to duck for cover during the Clippers' 123-87 blowout victory over the Lakers at the Staples Center on Friday.
With a little more than two minutes remaining in the first quarter and the Clippers leading 32-23, Darren Collison pushed the ball ahead to Jamal Crawford, who looked to take advantage of the Lakers' defense in transition. After a slight pump fake for a three-pointer, Crawford split two defenders with a pass to Griffin, who filled the center lane trailing the play. Kaman was occupied on the weakside block trying to defend DeAndre Jordan, and that left Griffin a completely clear path to the basket.
Taking two steps before lift-off, Griffin pounded home a one-handed dunk as Kaman slid out of the way, spinning around to watch the dunk unfold.

I guess we call this "risk assessment" defense on Kaman's part. What's worse: trying to make a block, getting posterized and getting called for a defensive foul, or simply jumping out of the way, giving up the dunk and enjoying the view of the highlight from the court?
Griffin finished with a game-high 33 points (on 12-for-15 shooting), 12 rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks. DeAndre Jordan added 13 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks for the Clippers, who had their way inside with the depleted Lakers throughout.
Kendall Marshall led the Lakers with 16 points (on 6-for-11 shooting) and 10 assists. Wesley Johnson and Robert Sacre added 14 points apiece in a losing effort.
The Clippers improved to 26-13 with their third straight win. The Lakers dropped to 14-23 with their fourth straight loss.
