Wizards guard John Wall hit a crazy circus shot in transition during Washington's 96-93 home victory over Chicago on Friday.
With a little less than four minutes remaining in the third quarter and Chicago leading 70-64, Wall took off in transition, going one-on-one against Mike Dunleavy. As Dunleavy reached across Wall's body to give a foul, Wall spun 180 degrees, putting his back to the basket.
Even though the ball down was by his waist after the contact, an off-balance Wall managed to fling it up slingshot style over his head as he fell to the ground. The desperation shot happened to kiss perfectly off the glass and in for the and-one opportunity. The 2010 No. 1 pick hit the free throw to complete the three-point play.
Wall posted a game-high 23 points (on 9-for-15 shooting), 11 assists and four rebounds in the win. Bradley Beal and Martell Webster added 14 points apiece for Washington.
Kirk Hinrich scored a team-high 18 points (on 8-for-15 shooting), five rebounds and five assists for Chicago. D.J. Augustin added 16 points (on 5-for-10 shooting) and two assists off the bench.
Washington improved to 19-19 with the win. Chicago dropped to 18-20 with the loss.
