The NBA has fined Wizards guard John Wall $15,000 for directing inappropriate comments towards the referees following a 98-85 home loss to the Bobcats on Wednesday.

Wall, 23, is on the books for $7.5 million this season and he inked a five-year, $80 million rookie contract extension last summer.

Although there was no major confrontation between Wall and the officials following the game, the 2010 No. 1 pick was apparently still upset at being called for a foul on Kemba Walker while the Bobcats guard was shooting a three-pointer. That play occurred with 4:33 remaining in the fourth quarter and stretched Charlotte's lead from 83-80 to 87-80 after Walker hit all three free throws, plus a fourth that was awarded when Wizards coach Randy Wittman drew a technical foul for disputing the call.

"I didn't touch him," Wall said of the foul, according to the Washington Post. "All he did was scream."

When all was said and done, the Bobcats went on an 18-5 closing run to claim the road victory.

Al Jefferson led the Bobcats with a game-high 26 points (on 13-for-20 shooting) and 10 rebounds. Walker finished with 16 points (on 5-for-13 shooting), five assists and three rebounds in  the win.

Wall finished with a team-high 23 points (on 10-for-19 shooting) and four assists. Bradley Beal added 18 points (on 7-for-18 shooting) and three rebounds in a losing effort.

The Bobcats improved to 31-34 with their second straight win. The Wizards dropped to 33-31 with their second consecutive loss.
