Nets forward Paul Pierce blocked a driving shot by Raptors guard Kyle Lowry to seal Brooklyn's 104-103 road victory in Game 7 at the Air Canada Centre on Sunday.

"We said we were going to win this with our defense," Pierce told ESPN in a post-game interview. "Lowry, we knew he was going to try to get to the hole. It was a scramble for the ball, I saw him go up. I went up for the block. Clean block at the end."

Pierce's defensive stand ensured that Brooklyn didn't blow a 10-point lead in the game's final six minutes. Brooklyn (No. 6) defeated Toronto (No. 3) by a 4-3 margin in the first-round playoff series. The Nets will advance to face the Heat in a conference semifinals series. Game 1 is set for Tuesday in Miami.
