The Senior Bowl kicked-off in full force on Monday morning as more than 100 of the nation's top upperclassmen took part in physical exams and weigh-ins in Mobile, Ala. The North team completed two full practices by midday Tuesday, with several players standing out. Here's a look at the players that have impressed scouts and the few who have not.

Eddie Royal, WR, Virginia Tech: Royal has separated himself as the best receiver on the North. He's caught everything thrown in his direction and no defensive back has been able to contain him.

Chad Henne, QB, Michigan: The former Wolverine has looked solid the past two days. He throws the nicest deep pass of any quarterback in attendance and has connected on several throws of 40-plus yards.

Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC: The Trojan defender has been a penetrating force thus far, playing with the quickness and explosion he's known for. He's built like a tank and has displayed a lot of power, which caught many by surprise.

Mike Pollack, C, Arizona State: Pollack is establishing himself as the best center in the draft at the Senior Bowl. He plays with a good degree of athleticism and clears lanes at the line of scrimmage or knocks linebackers off the ball on the second level.

Lavelle Hawkins, WR, California: Hawkins has been very reliable thus far, displaying consistent hands and good route running skills. He has made a number of difficult receptions in tight coverage.

Kirk Barton, OT, Ohio State: Barton has been a surprise at the Senior Bowl, delivering more than what was expected. He's done a solid job against many of the speedy pass rushers who beat him in college.

Roy Schuening, G, Oregon State: The offensive guard has been impenetrable the past two days, controlling defenders immediately off the snap. Scouts have praised Schuening a number of times for his outstanding strength.

Justin Forsett, RB, California: Forsett does not possess top size but has made up for it with outstanding quickness and speed. He created a lot of yardage on the inside during Tuesday's practice when most backs would've been stopped dead in their tracks.

Adarius Bowman, WR, Oklahoma State: Bowman has dropped more passes than he's caught the past two days. His route-running skills also leave a lot to be desired.

Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston College: Cherilus looked impressive in weigh-ins on Monday morning yet struggled during the initial two practices. He was beaten badly a number of times by pass rushers who exploited his inability to slide laterally.

John David Booty, QB, USC: Booty has not distinguished himself at the Senior Bowl. His arm strength and timing have come into question as his outs lack zip and arrive late.

DeJuan Tribble, CB, Boston College: Tribble has been beaten on a number of occasions and has given up more than a few deep receptions.

• The official reason for Brian Brohm's absence is a lower leg injury, which he originally suffered late in the season against Rutgers. Some scouts are willing to give him a pass, which they won't do for Matt Ryan. The thought process in Mobile is Ryan has hurt his draft stock by choosing not to participate in the Senior Bowl, and any slim chance the former Boston College quarterback had of being the first pick in the draft is just about gone.

• Defensive tackle Kentwan Balmer of North Carolina was the best defensive lineman during the North's practice on Monday, but he injured his hamstring and will not participate the remainder of the week. His replacement is Iowa State's Ahtyba Rubin, who is charging up draft boards and turned a lot of heads at last week's East West Shrine Game.
