CLEVELAND (AP) -- A person familiar with Cleveland's coaching search says the Browns will not be hiring Oregon's Chip Kelly.

Kelly met with the Browns for seven hours Friday, and they came close to reaching an agreement with the college coach, who also interviewed with the Philadelphia Eagles. The person said Sunday the 49-year-old was indecisive about making the jump to the NFL and the Browns decided to move on to other candidates. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the search.

The Browns are seeking their sixth fulltime coach since 1999. Pat Shurmur was fired last week after going 9-23 in two seasons.

It's possible Kelly may return to Oregon, where he has led the Ducks to a 46-7 record and four straight BCS bowls the past four seasons.
