DirecTV to offer new channel dedicated to fantasy football coverage

DirecTV is already home to the popular NFL Sunday Ticket package and now they are expanding their coverage of the league even further with "Fantasy Zone," a new channel offering live fantasy coverage of each Sundays' games, the network announced.

The channel will be a part of their Sunday Ticket Max package and will be set up in a similar manner to the "Red Zone" channel, which offers roving coverage of all the league's games. Fantasy Zone will offer running commentary, as well as real time fantasy statistics, and be hosted by former NFL linebacker Dhani Jones and Kay Adams.

The satellite provider currently has an exclusive contract with the NFL that allows it to show fans every game broadcast for $300 a year. The contract is a central part of a proposed $48.5 billion merger between DirecTV and AT&T.
