Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger was "sucker punched" at a Nashville bar over the weekend, The Tennessean reports.

According to Loser's Most Wanted Bar & Grill owner Steve Ford, Mettenberger was at Loser's when a man punched him in the eye following an exchange.

From The Tennessean:

"Here's the truth: The guy said something about 'Roll Tide!' to Zach, and Zach turned around and said 'Good luck with that,' " Ford said on Monday. "And the guy's buddy then sucker-punched Zach.

Mettenberger, who Tennessee selected in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL draft, played for LSU. The Alabama football team has beaten LSU three straight times, including in the 2012 BCS National Championship Game.

It's unclear if any police action is being pursued. Metternberger did not require medical attention after the punch.

The Titans are scheduled to report to training camp on Friday.
