Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Marvin Jones broke his foot in practice Saturday and will be out "a few weeks" according to a report from Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. Hobson also reported that Jones underwent surgery to put a pin in his foot.
The 24-year-old Jones had a breakout season last year, catching 51 passes for 712 yards and 10 TDs. In Week 8 against the Jets, Jones caught eight passes for 122 yards and four touchdowns.
On the Bengals' depth chart, Jones had been listed as a starter at receiver across from All-Pro A.J. Green. Third-year pro Mohamed Sanu is Cincinnati's third receiver. Hobson noted that the same injury cost Sanu a month of the 2012 season.
The Bengals open the regular season on September 7 at the Baltimore Ravens.
