Report: Vikings' Linval Joseph expected to be ready for Week 1

After being hit in the calf by a stray bullet Friday, Vikings defensive tackle Linval Joseph will likely miss a few weeks with a minor calf injury but is expected to be ready for Minnesota's regular season opener, reports Ed Werder of ESPN

The shooting occurred following the team's preseason opener versus the Raiders at a nightclub in downtown Minneapolis. According to a statement by the Vikings, Joseph was an "innocent bystander" during the incident. 

Nine people were shot, but all are expected to survive, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune

Joseph signed with the Vikings in March. The 25-year-old spent the previous four seasons with the New York Giants and made 59 tackles in 2013.
