Running back Andre Brown cleared waivers on Tuesday, according to ESPN.
The Texans released Brown, who can now sign with any team, on Monday after signing him in April.
Brown did not play in the team's preseason opener Saturday at Arizona.
Brown, 27, rushed for 492 yards with the Giants last season after sitting out the first eight games due to a broken leg.
A fourth-round pick out of North Carolina State in 2009, Brown has had stints with five different teams.
