49ers activate defensive lineman Ian Williams from PUP list

The San Francisco 49ers activated defensive tackle Ian Williams from the PUP list Tuesday. Williams suffered a broken leg in Week 2 of the 2013 season after being hit by a cut block from a Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman.

The San Francisco 49ersactivated defensive tackle Ian Williams from the PUP list Tuesday. Williams suffered a broken leg in Week 2 of the 2013 season after being hit by a cut block from a Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman. 

CSNBayArea.com reported that Williams underwent four surgeries on the leg.

Last year Williams won the starting nose tackle job before the injury cost him the rest of the season. He returns to a 49ers defensive line that is already depleted, having lost Glenn Dorsey, Williams' replacement, for the season with a torn bicep muscle

Williams was an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame in 2011.
