CHICAGO (AP) Chicago cornerback Kyle Fuller left the Bears' preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night because of an ankle injury.
A first-round pick from Virginia Tech, he was injured on the opening possession. Drafted 14th overall, Fuller has been playing with the first team in nickel situations.
He started 42 of 50 games at Virginia Tech and had 129 solo tackles along with six interceptions, 21 pass break ups and four forced fumbles in his career. He had 24 tackles, broke up 10 passes and picked off two in nine games last season.
Backup tight end Zach Miller left the game in the second quarter because of a foot injury. He was taken from the sideline on a cart.
Coach Marc Trestman said Fuller and Miller were ''being checked out right now,'' and he would have ''more definitive information.'' He also said defensive end Willie Young missed the game because of a bruised knee but said it was not serious.
Jaguars right tackle Austin Pasztor left the game after breaking his hand in the second quarter. And backup center Luke Bowanko exited after spraining his ankle trying to block on a toss play in the third quarter. He was helped off the field, but the team said X-rays revealed no structural damage.
