Browns Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown told a Cleveland radio station that he likes rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel's "type."

"I like Johnny, you know, I like his type," Brown told ESPN Cleveland's "The Really Big Show" on Friday. "Johnny is a champion, Johnny won games in college. He won the Heisman Trophy as a freshman, didn’t he? … That’s pretty bold. Not bad. You got to have something going on to do that."

Brown mentioned himself when commenting on Manziel's vibrant social life.

"You’ve got to remember, I’m an ex-player. We used to party," Brown said. "Let’s get real, man, we chase girls."

Brown rushed for 12,312 yards and 106 touchdowns and made the Pro Bowl all nine seasons of his career.

Manziel is competing with veteran Brian Hoyer to be the Browns' starting quarterback.

Cleveland selected Manziel with the No. 22 pick in this year's draft.

The 21-year-old won the Heisman Trophy in his redshirt freshman season at Texas A&M in 2012.
