Johnny Manziel: 'I don't think I'm ready for Pittsburgh right now'
Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel acknowledged that he doesn't think he's "ready for Pittsburgh right now," but quickly added that he "can get ready" for Cleveland's Week 1 opponent, speaking to reporters on Saturday.
"I don't want that taken out of context," Manziel said. "I can get ready. Right now it's the second week of preseason."
The Browns play their second preseason game in Washington on Monday night. Head coach Mike Pettine said Brian Hoyer will start the game, but that the quarterbacks will split repetitions with the first-team offense. Pettine has said he hopes to name a starter by Tuesday.
Manziel was 7-of-11 passing for 63 yards in his NFL debut, and ran for 27 yards on six carries.
