Levi's Stadium will not host scheduled high school football games next week due to problems with the field, the Sacramento Bee's Joe Davidson reports.

San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh pulled the team off the field on Wednesday because players were slipping on the turf. The team will play its home game on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.

Local television crews used helicopters to show workers tearing up the field earlier this week.

The Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows says the cancelation of the high games likely means the team plans to tear up the field again after Sunday's preseason game. San Francisco's first regular season home game at the new Levi's Stadium is on Sept. 14 against the Chicago Bears.
