Reports: Patriots agree to trade Logan Mankins to Buccaneers
Glazer reports that the Patriots will acquire tight end Tim Wright and a draft pick.
Mankins, 32, was selected by the Patriots in the first round of the 2005 draft. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl six times in his nine-year career.
The Patriots have relied heavily on tight ends in the past, using Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez effectively in 2012. The duo combined for 106 catches, 1,273 yards and 16 touchdowns that year. Gronkowski was injured most of last season and hasn't played at all this preseason. Hernandez is out of the league, having been arrested on a murder charge.
Veteran guard Carl Nicks and the Buccaneers agreed to part ways earlier this offseason.
