LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) The Chicago Bears have released cornerback Kelvin Hayden and offensive lineman Eben Britton.

They also reached an injury settlement with safety M.D. Jennings and released defensive end Austen Lane. Receiver Chris Williams and 12 other players were waived as Chicago trimmed the roster to 53 before Saturday's deadline.

Hayden missed last season because of a torn hamstring after appearing in 16 games in 2012. Britton played in 13 games last year - his first in Chicago - but missed most of training camp and the first three preseason games with a knee injury.

Williams, a former CFL standout who was competing for spots as a return specialist and backup receiver, missed two weeks with a hamstring injury.
