The St. Louis Rams have claimed quarterback Case Keenum on waivers, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter

Keenum was released by the Houston Texans on Sunday after Houston traded for Patriots backup quarterback Ryan Mallett.

The Rams have been looking for quarterback help ever since Sam Bradford tore his ACL on Aug. 23 and was lost for the season.

Michael Sam won't be inked to Rams' practice squad

According to Schefter, the Rams spent a lot time researching Keenum in the past 24 hours.

The 26-year-old started eight games for the Texans last season, throwing nine touchdowns and six interceptions across 1,760 yards.
