New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said it is too soon to say whether starting cornerback Dee Milliner will be ready for the team's regular season opener against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.

Ryan was asked on Monday if he thought Milliner would be a go for Week 1. "I hope he is," Ryan said, according to NFL.com.

Milliner has been out since Aug. 10 with a high-ankle sprain he suffered in practice.

After the team releasedDimitri Patterson last week, the Jets will go with Darrin Walls and Antonio Allen at cornerback if Milliner is not able to play.
