"I'm definitely disappointed, but it wouldn't do me or the team any good if I just stood here and felt sorry for myself," Schaub said.

During the preseason, Carr completed 30 of 45 passes for 326 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. In the team's preseason finale, he completed 11 of 13 passes for 143 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Schaub was acquired in a trade with the Texans in March and signed a two-year contract with $8 million in guaranteed salary. The Raiders selected Carr in the second round of April's draft.

Other prominent rookie quarterbacks, including Teddy BridgewaterBlake Bortles and Johnny Manziel, are not expected to start for their teams in Week 1.
