The Minnesota Vikings finished last season with a 5-10-1 record. The Vikings went 3-2-1 in their last six games,

The team fired head coach Leslie Frazier. The team hired Mike Zimmer as his replacement in January.

Last season, the Vikings failed to win a road game (0-7-1) for the first time since 2001.

The team ranked No. 13 in offense, and averaged 344.3 yards per game.

The Vikings traded up to draft quarterback Teddy Bridgewater with the No. 32 pick of the 2014 NFL draft. Zimmer named Matt Cassel as the team's starting quarterback this season.

Cassel started six games for the Vikings last year and played in nine, throwing for 1,807 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Despite missing two games last season, running back Adrian Peterson was fifth in the NFL in rushing with 1,266 yards.
