Washington went 3-13 last season, the fewest wins for the franchise since 1994.

After undergoing knee surgery in January, quarterback Robert Griffin III's 2013 statistics fell short of the impressive marks he set as a rookie. Griffin threw fewer touchdowns, more interceptions and completed a lower percentage of his passes.

Head coach Mike Shanahan and his son, offensive coordinator Kyle, were both fired at the end of the season. Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden was hired as head coach and 28-year-old Washington tight ends coach Sean McVay was promoted to offensive coordinator.

Washington signed receiverDeSean Jackson after he was released by the Eagles. Other offseason additions include former Cowboys defensive end Jason Hatcher and second-round draft pick Trent Murphy.
