Tony Romo was Week 1's most mentioned player on Twitter

Twitter released its data from the NFL's opening weekend, and Tony Romo was the big winner (or loser). 

Romo was mentioned more than any other NFL player from Thursday to Monday after throwing interceptions on three consecutive drives in the Cowboys' loss to the 49ers on Sunday.

The Dallas-San Francisco game was also the most-tweeted game of the week, outpacing all four primetime games. In fact, the Colts-Broncos Sunday night game and Cardinals-Chargers Monday night game were not among the top five most-tweeted games.

Twitter also released an interactive data visualization tool for the week's action.

The Ravens were the most mentioned team of the week, due to their decision to releaseRay Rice. The tweet from the Ravens' official account announcing the move was retweeted nearly 56,000 times.
