Tim Tebow joining Good Morning America as contributor

Free agent NFL quarterback Tim Tebow is joining ABC's Good Morning America as a contributor, ABC announced Thursday. Hadas Gold of Politico first reported the news.

Tebow will join the show beginning Sept. 15, and will help launch a "Motivate Me Monday" series, featuring "individuals and their amazing stories of triumph." He will appear in studio and live on location in towns across the country.

Tebow last played in the NFL for the New York Jets in 2012. He was released in August 2013, and was hired as a college football analyst with ESPN four months later. He now primarily works for the ESPN-owned SEC Network.

It was recently announced that Around the Horn host Tony Reali is leaving to join Good Morning America as its social media correspondent.
