Falcons wide receiver Roddy White was annoyed about the Vikings deactivating Adrian Peterson for Sunday's game against the Patriots — not because of the child abuse charges, but because Peterson won't be available for White's fantasy football team.

White tweeted on Friday that he is "going to lose" his fantasy football matchup this week because "all day" (Peterson's nickname) "can't play Sunday for disciplining his child Jesus help us"

White deleted this post soon thereafter and tweeted an apology.

"I should not have made light of a very serious situation," White wrote. "I understand the strong feelings about this issue and i shouldn't have said that"

Peterson was charged with using a switch to spank his son, his lawyer, Rusty Hardin, said in a statement on Friday.

Peterson has rushed for 10,190 yards and 86 touchdowns in eight seasons with the Vikings.

White had five catches for 72 yards and a touchdown in Atlanta's season-opening win over the Saints.
