Houston Texans coach Bill O'Brien said the Oakland Raiders defense will be a "very big challenge for our offense," the Houston Chronicle's Brian T. Smith reports.

The Texans offense scored 10 points during their Week 1 victory over Washington. Oakland's defense allowed 19 points, including 212 rushing yards on 34 carries, to the New York Jets during its season-opening loss.

“Very athletic,” O’Brien said. “Veteran defense with the exception of Khalil Mack, who’s a very explosive, athletic player. Veteran players along the front. (Justin) Tuck, I’m pretty familiar with. (LaMarr) Woodley, I’m pretty familiar with. Antonio Smith, our players are very familiar with him. Very, very good players. Linebackers are athletic. It’s a very, very big challenge for our offense going against this defense.”

Texans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 14 of 22 passes for 206 yards and one touchdown during Week 1. Running back Arian Foster had 103 yards on 27 carries against Washington.

The Texans play their road-opener against the Raiders on Sunday at 4:25 p.m.
