Despite throwing four interceptions in a 30-7 loss to the Patriots on Sunday, Matt Cassel will remain the Vikings' starting quarterback next week, head coach Mike Zimmer said after the game, according to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Cassel said after the game that he appreciates Zimmer not having a quick hook with him, Tomasson reports. Minnesota (1-1) visits the 0-2 Saints next Sunday.
The 32-year-old Cassel has three touchdowns and four interceptions in two games this season. The 10-year veteran of the Patriots, Chiefs and Vikings has 95 touchdown passes and 66 interceptions in 88 career games.
The Vikings drafted Teddy Bridgewater with the 32nd pick of the 2014 draft.
