Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer says he doesn’t know when he will return from a nerve issue in his right shoulder.

Palmer sat out the Cardinals' 25-14 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday after he was injured in the team’s opener against the San Diego Chargers. Against San Diego, he threw for 304 yards and two touchdowns.

"They said my shoulder was stretched out and I landed on the nerve, shut the nerve down," Palmer said, according to the Arizona Republic. "It's just one of those things you've just go to wait and hope it wakes up. There's no, 'it needs 48 hours. It needs six days, it needs 12 days. You just don't know.”

Drew Stanton filled in for Palmer against the Giants and completed 14 of 29 passes for 167 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions.

The Cardinals (2-0) play division rival San Francisco (1-1) in Week 3 before their bye week.
