Brian Urlacher leaves analyst role at Fox Sports, citing family reasons

Former Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher has left his position as an analyst at Fox Sports, the network announced Tuesday. A release from the network said Urlacher was resigning "to spend more time with his family."

In an interview with a Chicago radio station Tuesday morning, Urlacher said traveling to and from Fox's studios in Los Angeles "got to me quite a bit."

"I wanted to feel retired," he added.

Urlacher joined Fox prior to last season as an NFL analyst after a 13-year professional playing career. He appeared on the network's NFL pregame shows.

Urlacher spent his entire NFL career with the Bears and is the franchise's all-time leader in tackles with 1,040. He was selected to the Pro Bowl eight times.
