Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Flip Saunders is not committing to rookie Andrew Wiggins being a starter when the season begins, Saunders said on 105 The Ticket on Friday

Wiggins was the No. 1 pick in June's NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was traded to the Timberwolves in August in a deal that sent Kevin Love to Cleveland.

Saunders said that when it comes to who will start for Minnesota, "youngsters" will be interspersed with the team's veterans. Anthony Bennett, the No. 1 pick in the 2013 draft, was also dealt to the Timberwolves in the Kevin Love trade.

Wiggins averaged 17.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in one season at Kansas. He was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year and a consensus second team All-American.
