Report: Adrian Peterson in denial, not in Vikings' future plans
Adrian Peterson is in denial about his NFL future, a future that will not involve the Minnesota Vikings, according to a source with the team cited by ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
"Peterson still has not come to grips with the prospect that his 2014 season has all but officially ended," reports Mortensen, who says Minnesota does " not foresee Peterson in [its] future."

The Vikings will also "severely discipline" Peterson, the source told Mortensen, even if Peterson reaches a plea deal in his pending child abuse case in Texas. The source did not specify what that discipline would be or when it would occur.
Peterson wrote in a tweet Friday he asked to take a lie detector test, which team sources say serves as further indication Peterson "doesn't get it."
The Vikings attempted to activate Peterson this Monday, but following a public outcry at the move, Peterson was placed on the commissioner's "exempt list." The exempt list allows players such as Peterson to retain a full paycheck in exchange for indefinite suspension that exceeds the usual four-game deactivation limit.
A petition was filed Friday in Minnesota court seeking protection for Peterson's four-year-old son, who he struck with a tree branch earlier this year.
