Philip Rivers threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns, all to veteran tight end Antonio Gates, and San Diego beat Seattle 30-21. Nick Novak was 3-of-3 on field goals with a long of 50 yards. San Diego held possession for 42:15.

The Chargers defense gave up 14 unanswered points to Arizona in the fourth quarter, allowing the Cardinals to take the lead and the win, 18-17. Rivers threw for 238 yards, one touchdown and an interception.

Jacksonville allowed 529 yards of total offense and turned the ball over three times -- two Blake Bortles interceptions and a Mike Brown fumble -- on the way to a 44-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Denard Robinson was the team's leading rusher with 33 yards, while rookie wide receiver Allen Robinson led the team in receiving with seven catches for 79 yards.
Week 2: Redskins 41, Jaguars 10
The Jaguars offense managed just 148 yards of total offense while the defense allowed 449 in a loss to the Washington, 41-10. The team combined for 25 rushing yards and quarterback Chad Henne finished the game with 193 yards passing, one touchdown and an interception.
