Buffalo Bills rookie receiver Sammy Watkins commented Wednesday on new starting quarterback Kyle Orton.

"He reads it quicker, the ball is coming out faster," Watkins said, according to ESPN.com's Mike Rodak.

Coach Doug Marrone announced Monday that Orton would start Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.

Under 2013 first-round pick E.J. Manuel, the Bills went 2-2 with wins over the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins and losses to the San Diego Chargers and Houston Texans.

Orton has appeared in four games over the past two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. In 2013, he completed 64.7 percent of his passes for 398 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Redskins' Trent Williams says the Seahawks aren't unstoppable

Watkins, the No. 4 overall pick in this year's draft, has caught 17 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns over four games this season.

Here are some of Watkins' other comments on Orton, from Syracuse.com:

"He's a 10-year vet, so he knows what to expect. I'm pretty sure he knows what Mike can do, what I can do, what Robert can, and how fast everybody can run. So far he's been doing a great job."

"Since we have a 10-year vet, a guy that can get the ball down the field, now it's on the wideouts. I expect I have to come out every play, every down and expect the ball. Can't wait to play the game."
